Designed to prepare students to start, develop, finance, manage, and harvest new ventures. Students examine academic theory and are exposed to successful practicing entrepreneurs. Courses are presented within an active learning environment so that students develop the skills to initiate their own ventures. Students will learn how to formulate business ideas, select a location, select a legal form of organization, locate financing sources, assess the market, develop a human resource management system, and establish budgets for control.
Students will learn to apply the major concepts, skills, and values of the food service management profession to address industry problems both locally and globally. They will develop skills to communicate effectively to diverse audiences, purposes and situations in food service operations. And, use decision-support tools and technology to solve problems and facilitate organizational processes within the food service operation. Students will comprehend and apply industry specific operational standards to real life work situations. They will become leaders to analyze and interpret pertinent information when making decisions within food service operations.
Classes and in-person clinicals in animal sciences, management, nutrition, communications, and clinic operations.
Students will learn a wide variety of skills. The program includes classroom instruction and hands-on practical learning. Students will learn the following skills and more:
Lower high school electives in marketing, communications, and business management. AT 17 years old, students will begin their one-year Texas Real Estate License Classes. At 18, students can sit for their State test, when their classes are completed.
Classes and hands-on in-class experience running and managing our school non-profit Giving Hope, Dallas.
This program introduces learners to key management issues for nonprofit organizations and provides practical techniques for setting strategic direction, budgeting, fundraising, marketing, leadership and volunteer development and management.
